I would like to mention this data is from 2009 and so is out of date due to recent events. A few big examples would be Ukraine having almost zero tourism right now, same as Syria and Lebanon.

I always wonder how these quantify EU countries visiting within the EU versus US intra travelling.

I know there’s slight differences, but the Schengen essentially gives the same freedom of movement and could inflat European country numbers with what are similar to domestic tourists in other, larger countries.

Isn’t Thailand the number 1 tourist destination in the world? Or is it just Bangkok specifically and the rest of Thailand doesn’t have as many tourists compared to France and Spain where there are tons of tourist destination cities and islands?
