  1. B.C.’s current ‘Summer in September’ heatwave is smashing temperature records, capping off the hottest year globally on record.

Matt Sellers just took the leap moving to Vancouver Island from Northern B.C., as an intense summer heatwave grips the region, and according to Environment Canada crushed 15 temperature records in B.C. on Thursday alone.

Seventy-two-year-old Gordon Trivett agrees. He just moved to Oceanside from Ontario this summer and said he can’t believe the difference in fall temperatures here.
