Diese 3 Hunde leben im New Arabkir Park, ich liebe sie einfach, sie sind superfreundlich und verspielt und sie grüßen mich jedes verdammte Mal, wenn ich morgens dort laufen gehe. Aber leider sind nicht alle streunenden Hunde hier freundlich (aus vielen Gründen, auch aus uns selbst). Aber Sie können sich gar nicht vorstellen, wie süß sie sind.

one of my favorite aspects of hiking here is the inevitable stray that follows along the entire trail
One time in 2014 or 2015, I barked back at a dog at 3-4 am and that one dog brough his friends (around 10) and they all started barking aggressively to me and my friend, we stayed there for a good 10 minutes till they left.
Location; before congress hotel (republic square directin), there was a building under construction and it had a wooden passage? for people to walk through.
Never barking back at dogs after midnight…
Both of my dogs were strays.
There used to be a HUGE guy at the passport checkpoint on the way to Artsakh. Scars, ears chewed off, one messed up eye, he was just standing in the road intimidating everyone until I gave him some gata and he became my friend.
Every time we are near the Diana Abkar park, we are more than happy to meet Gerda. She is a big and very kind stray dog. Our office loves Gerda <3
Last summer I was on vacation with my brother and my cousin. We went to erebuni mall a couple of times and there were always stray dogs laying there.
One time we stopped to pet one of them, a huge mistake! He stood up and started following us around. The other dogs who witnessed it, started following as well, one by one. Soon we had a whole gang of 5 or 6 of them accompanying us all the way home😂
They even waited a few hours in front of the gate before they left. From then on we went back to ignoring those dogs entirely. Some of them can be cute, but they can still be unpredictable and also I don’t want to give them false hopes of getting food or a home, so I leave them alone.
When we arrived in Yerevan we took a walk before heading to our hotel and figured out pretty quickly that if you have a backpack the dogs will always choose to tail you over someone who isn’t carrying anything, I guess they figured out tourist types are more likely to give them snacks 😂 Around the Cascade they seemed to have their own areas too, one dog following would suddenly stop walking and another dog who was sat guarding a place would take over.
Other than that we had a rental car and stopped a few times to give them water on really hot days.
By the way, what are the ear tags so many strays have? Are they checked up on and monitored by an organisation or charity?
