just to be clear, internet even 56k modem (the bad old times) is „light speed“, any data flowing through any wires runs at light speed.
They’ve been talking about this for years. You need a direct line of sight to the light source making it a huge step back from WiFi. While it might have some niche applications, I can’t see it ever being widespread.
Crappy article. No, WiFi does not stand for Wireless Fidelity and LiFi is not Light Fidelity. Makes me think this was churned out by AI or at best an absolutely clueless author. It barely touches the downsides of the technology, which really isn’t suitable unless you for some reason can’t use WiFi and don’t mind if your connection breaks when you turn your device upside down.
