The cold hard fact is they make a lot of money keeping people alive.

They killed my wife on the operating table and kept her “alive” with no brain activity for 7 days with an impressive array of electronic gadgets to keep her body alive on the hope her brain would (wake up?) start to function again.

The ICU staff are wonderful and they knew it was useless. However the hospital needs income to pay for the equipment and staff so….

That is why little old ladies like Marie Cooper have to go through this torture. IMO.
