    1. With the Olympic torch extinguished in Paris, all eyes are turning to Los Angeles for the 2028 Olympics.

The host city has promised that the next Summer Games will be “car-free.”

For people who know Los Angeles, this seems overly optimistic. The car remains king in LA, despite growing public transit options.

First they have to work on being crime-free, fentanyl-free, encampment-free, corruption-free, unsafe mass transit-free

The article has a lot of interesting history at the top, but if you want the meat, skip to the last two sections at the bottom.

There are some great improvements in LA’s plans, but I agree with the author that the Olympics won’t be car free unless they temporarily make them illegal in parts of the city, which will probably be terrible for everyone.
