Hallo Leute! Ich ziehe also bald in meine neue Wohnung und habe mich dort bereits um meinen Internetanschluss gekümmert. Ich habe die Fritzbox erhalten, aber schon beim Auspacken sah ich, dass ich keinen passenden Stecker für die Steckdose hatte, die ich habe. Zuerst dachte ich, ich hätte in meiner Wohnung keine Möglichkeit, einen kabelgebundenen Internetanschluss zu haben, aber dann habe ich mit dem Vormieter gesprochen und er sagte mir, dass er seinen Router in die Steckdose gesteckt hatte, in die das Koaxialkabel eingesteckt werden kann, und es funktionierte 100 % in Ordnung. Soweit ich weiß, handelt es sich um eine alte Steckdose, und ich habe nicht wirklich versucht, dort ein Kabel anzuschließen, da die Steckdose nicht die ist, die ich in meiner bald alten Wohnung habe. Weiß jemand, ob die DSL/Ethernet-Kabel der Fritzbox an dieser Buchse angeschlossen werden können? Wenn nicht, kann man für diese Aufgabe eine Art Adapter kaufen? Oder muss ein Elektriker kommen und eine neue Steckdose installieren? Ich danke Ihnen für Ihre Hilfe!

No the router has a coaxial interface and uses the old system to transmit data, don’t worry !
your provider probably sent you everything you should need to connect it. Out of my head top is internet, left cable TV and on the right vhf radio.
The outlet shown is a cable TV outlet. DSL uses the telephone socket.
Did you sign up for internet through your cable TV provider or through a telecom provider?
If the later, look for a telephone socket which looks like any of these [https://fixin.ch/anschluesse/](https://fixin.ch/anschluesse/) You might need an adapter if you have the super old 4 pin socket.
Edit to add: If you do not need cable TV, inform your landlord that the outlet should be sealed. This can save you up to CHF 400 per year.
i think you have a FIBER internet connection with this fritzbox, and whats in your house is the older version of internet connection here in switz. so you will need a different box in my opinion. Normally websites like Salt Or Swisscom allow you to check (once you put in your address) if your building/ apartment, has been set up with a fiber connection or is it like the old system you have in the image. Then you can have them send you the right box. Good luck!

– Did you order a HTC („cable“) or DSLx internet service?
– in case you can’t remember/don’t know: What is the exact name of the FritzBox type you received (i.e. 6690, 7590 or similar)
This would be very beneficial to give you a correct answer.

Talk to UPC/ Sunrise
The only provider which will work with that socket is Sunrise. Their connection is pretty good but their customer service isn’t (well, at least their reputation says so).
You might have a different (square-ish) telephone/DSL outlet somewhere in the apartment. That would allow you to pick your provider more freely.
I take for granted you don’t have a fiber outlet in your apartment, that would be the best option if that was the case.
It’s possible you ordered a fibre connection and while the line has been pulled to your basement, it hasn’t been pulled to your apartment. This usually only done after the first order for that apartment. And usually automatic.
There are checkers on the internet (I forget where) to see if the lines have been pulled in to your building. In Genève this second part is at no cost to you. You just have to ask them to send someone to pull the line from the basement.
