Hallo zusammen, ich brauche den Rat von anderen Schweizer Reddit-Nutzern. Situation: Ich habe im Februar 2024 bei einem der großen Autohändler für 48 Monate ein Privatauto geleast – meine Raten betragen etwa 280 CHF pro Monat, was für mich in Ordnung ist. (42 Monate Restlaufzeit des Leasingvertrags)
Nun bietet mir mein Arbeitgeber jedoch einen Firmenwagen an und ich überlege, was für mich die beste Möglichkeit ist, mein Privatauto loszuwerden:

Den Leasingvertrag vorzeitig kündigen, was mich vermutlich einiges kosten wird (6K CHF).

Ich kaufe das Auto direkt zum aktuellen Wert von 18.000 CHF und verkaufe es dann selbst in der Hoffnung, einen angemessenen Preis zu erzielen.
Kann jemand aufgrund seiner Erfahrung sagen, ob es noch andere Möglichkeiten gibt?
Auf meinem Zulassungsschein steht: „Wechsel des Fahrzeughalters verboten“. Bedeutet das, dass ich das Auto nicht direkt kaufen kann?

I’m not 100% sure, but I think that prohibition is there for most of rental and leased cars. As soon as you pay off the lease, you are allowed to sell it.
As u/razhun already stated, once the leasing is over the lease agency notifies whomever they need to and the car can be sold normally since it’s now yours (usually you get a letter confirming this). If you want to end it sooner you can also chose to pay a part of the monthly rates in advance, or to pay it fully now.
Another option to consider is transferring the lease to someone else. It allows you to „sell“ you lease contract and all obligations that go along with it.
