Mir ist heute aufgefallen, dass die Amischen aus der Schweiz stammen und es daher durchaus möglich ist, dass das, was die Amerikaner „Pennsylvania Dutch“ nennen, eigentlich ein Schweizer Dialekt ist. Ich lebe nicht auf der deutschen Seite, daher kenne ich außer Swiss Reddit niemanden, dem ich diese Frage stellen könnte.
Alsooooo… können Sie ihn verstehen? Ich nehme an, sein Akzent ist amerikanisch. Aber kommen Ihnen die Worte bekannt vor?

There are some passages I can understand like „it is really cold outside“, but i do not understand enough to get the context of anything.
I understand short phrases here and there but most is incomprehensible to me. Phonetically it reminds me more of Danish than Swiss German.
But I guess all that applies to St. Gallen as well.
I lived in Indiana for a while where they have a lot of Amish. You can understand them ok-ish. But this guy mumbles too much.
Why do they say “Pennsylvania Dutch” is Low German? If at all it is closer to Middle German. Swiss German however is a Upper German dialect.
While Swiss are used a variety of accents and dialects (less so the Germans) I personally have a hard time understanding anything what he is saying. As there is zero context, he talks fast, and as you say with an American accent. But you might try to ask the people from Luxembourg. Their language should be closer to his.
