The inmates were on a strike for couple of weeks and only made licence plate with three letters.
Einkanúmer= Private number plate. You can buy them from umferðarstofa for example your name.
Those are the plates of the most top celebrities and vip of the country, go take some selfies with them.
It’s the old licence plate system, with the letter [designating in what town](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_Iceland#Old_district_plates) the car was registered in. Some have requested custom license plate numbers calling back to that system.
