Warum bin ich plötzlich am Flughafen Beirut, obwohl ich auf Zypern bin? Schon seit ein paar Tagen wird mein Standort als Flughafen Beirut angezeigt, ich glaube, das liegt daran, dass ein paar Lausbuben das GPS fälschen. Hat noch jemand ein ähnliches Problem? Dadurch werden alle Karten-Apps (Waze usw.) selbst in CarPlay völlig unbrauchbar.

Do you use any kind of fake gps app?
If you have an android phone and have enabled Developer Options, you might check in there for mock GPS location. If not, then, mountain pirates are the likely culprit.
I’ve had the exact same problem with the “find my friends” app on my iPhone. It shows that I’m at an airport in Lebanon. I don’t know why but my knee jerk reaction was that it had something to do with my cellular data provider and its IP address.
Due to the ongoing situation in Northern Israel / Southern Lebanon since 8.10 (when Hezbollah decided to join forces with Hamas and attack Israel from Lebanese soil, that is), Israel is spoofing GPS to prevent the rats of Hezbollah from shooting and long-range precision missiles.

I am using flightradar a lot and notice that most of planes landing in larnaca are shown to be diverted to Beirut.
I randomly noticed yesterday that a weather app on my phone placed me in some location in Lebanon.
where are you actually located ? in which city ?
I was on holiday in Paralimni a month ago and every once in a while Google Maps showed me being at the airport. Happened like three times

Britta are jamming gps signal, around their base and port is the epicentre of the problem
I’m recently back in Cyprus from Lebanon and you should see the condition there… There’s all sorts of signal tampering for any media channel.

This happened to me on Saturday as well. Loads of GPS spoofing going on mainly by Israeli forces. Similar to what is happening in Ukraine and surrounding countries.
