Every EDEKA does it’s prices according to their own financial calculation and has often different discounts afaik.
So yes often EDEKA is more expensive than discounters like ALDI or Lidl but for „basic goods“ the prices are usually/often identical.
It’s usually around 8 Euros I think, even in more expensive stores like REWE, seems like you got yourself a pretty bad deal there. Or was this in a market in like a train station or an airport? Those can be a bit more expensive than the regular ones.
