Not surprising at all.

He, as a member of a professional organization, violated the professional organization’s code of conduct.

The professional organization gave him an option to restore standing in the organization. He refused.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

For someone supposedly all about “accountability” and “personal responsibility” he sure seems unable to hold himself the standard he preaches. This is what accountability looks like – facing the ramifications for your own choices and actions.
