      >In Armenia, Kavashen LLC produces corrugated asbestos roof slated in the city of Ararat. Aram Sargsyan, leader of the country’s Republic party and a former prime minister, owns 23% of the company’s shares.

      >Sargsyan, who supports Armenia’s membership in the European Union, may be surprised to learn that all twenty-seven members of the economic and pollical union banned the use of asbestos in 2005. Then again, maybe he just neglects this fact in favor of company profits.

Nothing in this passage surprised me.

    3. I have to say I’m not surprised at all. A combination of government filth and the old Armenian mentality of «բան էլ չիլնի» is the reason the country’s becoming more and more toxic. Removing catalyzers from cars, smoking cigarettes everywhere, people burning plastic garbage, tolerating asbestos… it’s just sad honestly. I can’t think of any other word.

    4. It’s been proven asbestos is a lung cancer culprit. Insane how money motivates you to keep doing illegal shit

Damn it. Get rid of that asbestos. The Soviet Union held back progress so much. It was the dark ages in many ways.
