„A “sophisticated and alarming” Mac malware attack is being carried out in the guise of free versions of popular apps like the screen recording utility Loom, cryptocurrency manager LedgerLive, and MMO game Black Desert Online.
It appears to be a well-organized attack, with the fake Mac app offers promoted through a combination of legitimate-looking Google ads and phishing emails“

tldr; A sophisticated Mac malware campaign is disguising itself as free versions of popular apps like Loom, LedgerLive, and Black Desert Online. Promoted through Google ads and phishing emails, this malware can steal files, passwords, and more. It’s particularly dangerous for LedgerLive users, as it can replace the real app and potentially drain cryptocurrency wallets. The campaign, believed to be orchestrated by a group known as Crazy Evil, highlights the importance of downloading apps only from the Mac App Store or trusted developer sites.
