Hole is for headsets and channel selection is for radio. This service ended ~20 years ago.
Plug yourself into that and you can change between five different Matrixes. Just don’t forget to switch back to ours before the last station because if the train stops while plugged in, you’ll be stuck there forever without your body!

I feel old.
The CH button converts the train into a Swiss train which is on time. The catch is that everyone has to press the button simultaneously.
