Meine Mutter (89), eine Norwegerin, die in den USA lebt, hat beim Ausräumen einer alten Schublade eine Münze in einem Plastikgehäuse gefunden, über die sie nichts weiß. Ich hoffe, dass uns jemand Informationen darüber geben kann. Ich hoffe, dass ich ihre Erinnerung an die Zeit und den Ort auffrischen kann, an dem sie sie bekommen haben könnte.

The head says ‚Norway at war, 1940-1945‘. The two lions are the same as on our coat of arms. The V on the front might be for Olav V, our previous king, our Harald V, our current king
The tail bears Haakon V and and crown prince Olav under the Royal Birch in 1940, before they were evacuated to Tromsø
It’s a commemorative medal that’s a part of a set that was called „Norge i krig“ released by a company that’s apparently a bit scammy. All our grandads collected them.
Googling tells me the V is for Victory. As in victory over Germany after five years of occupation 1940-1945.) There is supposed to be a piece of paper with information following the coin.

The coin was issued in 2002 by Samlerhuset AS. It is worth around 20 USD as silver scrap, or roughly the same for a collector.
