Doesn’t really matter. The process is now open. Now the decision is to have another sham or run a real open process.

  2. highsideroll on

I understand the appeal of other people but the shit show of not picking her through some open convention would be unimaginable. She is a capable speaker and good debater. She can prosecute Trump. She will seem a century younger than either of the old men. And this is 100% the funniest way for the first black woman president to happen. It’s all upside!

  3. Whack-a-med on

Oh fuck please don’t make this a coronation DNC. Ignore the “black people won’t vote for dems if Harris isn’t anointed” idiots.

Montell Williams side piece may be our next president…

    Gross

Dems are in a rough spot, if they don’t run Harris a large portion of their base will chalk it up to racism. They literally can’t run a white person due to optics.

  6. BananasAndPears on

From what I understand, she has to be on the ticket in order for them to keep all their campaign $$ right? I guess it was always going to be this way.

Unless there is an open primary and they can transition the $$ to someone else. Harris just isn’t electable and I’m a California Dem voter.

  7. Dry-Peach-6327 on

Time for us to throw our support 100% behind Kamala. She can destroy Trump.

  8. The DNC is so corrupt. Stole the election from Bernie and now forcing Kamala on us is gross

  9. Apprehensive_War6542 on

This is utter and complete disaster. I can’t believe we bought into the right wing troll narrative to turn on and knock off our own leader. There is no way Kamala will perform well in the rust belt. Only chance we had was with Biden. Hate to say, but there is no way a woman will be elected, get ready for a deluge of misogynistic Russian memes. Add black to woman, forget it. Plus, Hillary had 10x the intellect and political astuteness of Harris, and even she couldn’t overcome the misogynist attack.

Me thinks there’s some very angry MAGA people right now.

I so look forward to Trump dropping out of the September debates for whatever fake reason he can come up with now.

  11. spiraltap99 on

I have a lot of respect for Kamala and don’t think she’s been anywhere near as bad a VP as some people think, but I think she will lose badly to Trump if she’s the next nominee.

Her approval rating has been worse than Biden’s for most of the last 4 years, and unfortunately I think Americas still too sexist to elect a black woman as president on less than four months notice

  12. LET US PEOPLE CHOOSE. It’s not right to force Kamala Harris on us!!!

  13. Whatcanyado420 on

Good lord. I have never seen someone get screwed by his own people as hard as Joe Biden did.

  14. BlackSarah13 on

She’s not strong enough to win. Maybe she would have a slight chance if that attempted assassination didnt happen. But last time she ran she was last. If people hare trump enough then maybe

Republicans: “Joe Biden needs to step down!”

Also Republicans: “Actually, we didn’t really mean it.”

I can’t even believe this election year is real. How is any of this real life. It’s stressing me out

  17. sumtingfishy95 on

Yes! This is the missing piece we needed to beat Trump. Harris is YOUNGER, SMARTER, and an overall better orator than Trump. I put all my support behind Harris

I hope this doesn’t mean the DNC will simply automatically nominate her.

I do not believe she is our best shot at stopping trump.

  20. isthatabingo on

Democrats are so out of touch. Joe stepping down was the right decision, but I knew they’d fumble his replacement. America is still too sexist and racist to elect Kamala. No politician wants to say that publicly, but it’s the truth. If she becomes the nominee, we will lose, and we will deserve it.

  21. sorospaidmetosaythis on

    Bots initiate anti-DNC hatefest on my mark: 3, 2, 1 …

  22. Anyone still arguing Trump is a threat to democracy is a joke. Democrats just wiped out their entire primary system to replace their candidate with roughly 3,000 party elites voting. The will of their primary voters didn’t matter at all. They staged an actual insurrection.

  23. tehereoeweaeweaey on

As long as it’s not Gavin Newsom or Trump I could care less. I will happily take any young person (even though she’s a corrupt cop) over all the other horrible ideas for candidates the overlords are picking.

  24. CraigLePaige2 on

Kamala is an extremely uncharismatic person and if she’s the nominee, which it all points to it, she will have a harder time than Clinton did in 2016.

    Horrible timeline…

The ONLY reason Biden chose her in 2020 was because the DNC needed the Black vote.  Kamala wasn’t even a top 5 pick in the presidential primaries during 2019/20.

Unfortunately we are stuck with a horrible mess 3 months before it all begins. Fuck.

  25. NoCoffee6754 on

This basically puts a referendum on the next election: do you support women’s rights or not? The messaging should be that simple.
