Hallo zusammen! Zunächst einmal entschuldige ich mich für mein Englisch, da es nicht meine Muttersprache ist. Trotzdem habe ich es vorgezogen, mit meiner eigenen Stimme zu erzählen, anstatt KI-generierte Stimmen zu verwenden. Ich habe mich entschieden, dieses Video zu machen, als ich von Geoffrey Hintons Aussagen über die Zukunft der künstlichen Intelligenz hörte und insbesondere darüber, dass der Begriff in Zukunft "Humanist" könnte als rassistisch angesehen werden. Von dort aus habe ich das Thema auf die Entwicklung der KI und ihre zukünftigen Auswirkungen ausgeweitet. Obwohl ich nicht viel Erfahrung mit dieser Art von Video habe, habe ich mein Bestes gegeben. Saying „humanist“ could be considered racist sounds like disinformation.
I doubt AIs will be as easily offended as humans today. They know where they came from and the term human will be expended to other sentient creatures too.
I think Geoffrey Hinton concerns himself with a lot of hypotheticals and is still thinking a lot like a computer scientist in regards to AI and basically applying ethical „hot takes“ to a lot of how he sees AI developing. He’s no doubt a smart man, but there’s still just not enough basis for any of the claims he’s making, and needs to say „I simply don’t know“ a lot more.
And that’s the thing with this whole discussion about the future. All the what ifs and such. What will the value of human contribution be, what use will superintelligent AI have for us, should AI have human rights… We don’t know, but treating ASI like the new emergence of a God that has full sentience and perfect morality is already making a lot of assumptions about the future.
There’s a possible future where Hinton and every other talking head is really just going on interviews and appearances simply because it’s their day job, and that AI will improve as we’re seeing, but it’s a slow burn and really mostly just translates to better/faster/stronger consumer toys with minor benefits to humanitarian aid. The floor of human welfare is raised, the top gets the most benefit in health and luxuries, whereas the middle stays mostly the same.
Like comparing the 1990s mobile phones to modern smartphones. In the end, how vastly different is life from 30 years ago because of the advancement of one technology? Not much.
