Sounds like a power struggle within Kokoomus. For some weird reason, the voters have given a straight flush to Kokoomus when it comes to the Finnish foreign policy (president, prime minister, foreign minister and minister of defence). Orpo, Stubb, Häkkänen and Valtonen have their own ongoing game of thrones behind the curtains.
FM Valtonen is probably the smartest and most competent, Stubb has the biggest ego, Orpo is mediocre but a skilled politicians as he is really good at lying and calling black as white without blinking an eye, Häkkänen is a mixture of Stubb and Orpo.
It’s weird to see how the things have changed in Finland in last 30 years. I think Kokoomus has gotten more power than their actual support has been thanks to their PR team. Sure, their positive NATO-stance and pro-USA mind set work wonders when Russia is being Russia again
