We are totally fed up with the murderous bullshit this country pulls century after century on its smaller neighbors. When will it end?

Europe already has shitty demographic future, so maybe we could just pay Ukranian soldiers more money than sending people from the EU? Not to say that sending troops brings long-term societal problems. I would somehow justify sending troops if it ends the war sooner, but I don’t think so.

    3. sometime close to the start of the invasion, I volunteered for duty as a nurse. (at the time in my sairanhoitaja program, i was qualified as a lahihoitaja). For whatever reason, I received no response to my application.

(I actually had a sponsor for my expenses… the travel, initial in country expenses, and for the gear that I would need to do my job… so I’d be arriving geared up and ready).

I was disappointed that they didn’t respond to me. Still kinda sad the lost opportunity, despite that I might have been killed, as of course Russians target hospitals.

As someone who tried to go and is *still* willing, I am fine if Finland organized together people who volunteer from active duty and reserves, and 3rd country nationals like me with prior military service, and put together a group that did the ’non combat‘ work… so dealing with staffing field and normal hospitals, providing logistical services, managing finance, and doing headquarters work.

I think if some NATO countries took non-combat jobs, this could help the Ukrainians a lot, and would show our support in a more tangible way.

(more tangible than me volunteering as a sniper… at my age my back can’t take staying in one position for very long 😛 )
