      Scam.

Lot‘s of similar scam attempts are going around since scammers found out they can use chat gpt to write in swiss german.

Nor sure what app that is, but I would assume that account was taken over by someone and they are now trying to make money.

    2. what i am quite certain about is that you can not refund twint. so its probably not a question of him lying about giving you money at least.

maybe some money laundring? but then again you said you know that perosn

    3. sounds fishy, but if they’re scamming someone I can’t see how it’s scamming you. twint doesn’t let you retract a payment like paypal and others do, so once you actually have the money in your account it’s yours

    4. Text a bit more with them, the Swiss German so far looks like a mix of standard german and Swiss German, and if it’s not a native swiss speaker, you could figure that out if you chat more.

Usually, if they start mixing dialects too much that’s a sign in my opinion.

Sorry, but why would you do it if you don’t know the person well? Or at least call them and ask them about it…

I have asked a friend that exact thing. So the request is not unreasonable. Probably it’s not a scam given you know them.

But I have no idea if you could actually refund Twint payments. When I did that, it was between close friends. I wouldn’t do it for a random person I barely know. Just tell them that you don’t have any money on Revolut either.

    9. Your screenshot does not show whether you know this person. That’s kinda the most curucial piece of information here.

      Do you know this person?

      Either:

      1. Manufactured Spending (so they push their card limit up this way and hence it’s a form of credit fraud)

      or

      2. Money laundering (hacked account, stolen card,.. sent your way in exchange for clean money from you via a different app)

Here‘s a crazy idea, but it just might work: call the person and ask?
