      Indeed, that is a very good beer. Also most of the foreign equivalents cost a lot more here.

      We have around 100 and 1 more crucial things to solve, than getting slightly stronger alcohol to the markets. It reeks of cheap populism, as if it would matter jack shit whether we can have 5,2% or 7,2% strength alcohol at the supermarket.

      But yeah, good beer nonetheless.

      My local village store has a new shelf for the up to 8% stuff, the beer section is continuously emptied 😂

      Drunks will be drunks regardless of the law, I wish they would drop the monopoly all together.

      We can order alcohol from Germany to our door but not from Finland. That is absurd.

      The best thing about this is that local brewers can get rid of that ugly „market ipa“. Over hopped 5.5 pale ale is not a damn IPA. IPA should have 5.8-7.5 abv. Though I have nothing against the actual pale ale.

      This atrocity of 5.5 IPA is the same as bottling 7.0 red juice and calling it a red wine.

      Just drank two of them while watching the Euro final, good stuff. Although I’m really missing the ESB it’s probably my favorite beer but still only in alko I’ve seen it

      but bad fiscally and in stark contradiction of governments publicly stated goals of fiscal stability. Government fearmongers about fiscal sustainability to push for their selfish policy, proceeds to undermine significantly government monopoly on inelastic product (alcohol) that brings in alot of revenue to finance social services such as universal healthcare…. But hey alcohol and beverage companies have supported kokoomus for a long time in their lobbying.

      Its not in the best interest of the social democratic model, but neither is anything that Kokoomus or Perussuomalaiset do with the exception some decisions regarding national security be it Nato membership (kokoomus has suported this always) or capacity to answer to hybrid threats perpetrated by „yellow country“.

      yeah idk if it was a good idea, every time alcohol has been made easier for people to obtain the results have been negative. not to mention alcohol being one of the most severe public health issues for decades.

      but i’m glad we have critical thinkers saying “drunks will be drunks”

      I tried to be one year without alcohol and I loved it. Now only drink once or twice a year. The best thing getting rid of alcohol gives you is energy, you do not realize how much of a lag you get from drinking.

      I’m from the netherlands here, we’ve at 15% in grocery stores. and almost all alcohol we sell there have a light layer of dust on them due to how few people buy them (except for the ones I buy I guess). The percentage laws are silly, I understand it that you want to prevent people from drinking mixdrink materials straight, such as vodka, jagermeister or other kind of stuff. But to prevent things such as prosecco or other kinds of wine, it discourages people from seeing alcohol as a drink that should be consumed with other foods.

      And drinking with foods will make things taste much better, and will prevent people from being drunk, while still feeling the positive effects of being intoxicated. I absolutely LOVE having my prosecco or wines with some garlic bread. especially while I’m gaming with others behind my PC.

      And if you are the kind of person to get drunk from beers, you’re going to be getting them in larger quantities from the alcohol store anyway, so you’re just moving the supplier.

      Also, prices in finland are stupid. All alcohol has their prices doubled compared to other countries. It makes me lean towards making mixdrinks instead (such as a moscow mule), which is NOT what you’d want either. As you do NOT want an intoxicated person to start making MORE alcohol.

      Best way to keep people from knowing what is going on in the country is to make easier access to stronger alcohol so people buy more and get drunk longer and more often. Also makes it easier for the poorest to steal alcohol and increase risk for employees in smaller stores. More not less regulation for things that cause easy addiction.

      I was surprised that the wines in local Sale are actually pretty good! I have only tried like 2 whites and one red. These were just fine for me. I was expecting some watered down piss, but the wines were surprisingly able bodied.

      So, no need to go to Alko just because I want wine with my cheese or for cooking of other pairing.

      Also a big plus that you get proper belgian and german beers in the store now, and not only IPAs.

      Why celebrate alcohol consumption?

In 2019, of a total of 298 000 deaths from alcohol-related road crashes, 156 000 deaths were caused by someone else’s drinking.
