The berry picking is not forbidden by any means. Any tourist from Thailand, Myanmar or Cambodia or anywhere is allowed to pick berries and sell them. But you can’t get a visa just for picking berries, as they would be abused as free labour and used to lower berry prices artificially. This practice need to be stopped, as it is abusing the everyone’s right to make money for the berry barons. The berry pickers need to be employed and get visa for employment.
Ehh, while I think the ban sucks, that is probably the only way to make the abusive companies to clean their act.
What has been going on is absolute travesty.
More for me.
Hopefully something is made about the worker exploitation and they can come back in the future with better conditions.
Maybe try hiring workers with real pay and contracts.
