We are reaching a crossroads in human history. The birth of A.I. and the perpetual improvements in technology have lead us to the brink of what is called the technological singularity. At first glance, it seems like a far-flung sci-fi fantasy, but in reality, all signs point to a singularity by 2045.
The scariest thing about AI is it’s ability to improve itself. Improved AI is be able to improve the next version even more and this is where intelligence begins to grow exponentially like a snowball rolled down a Toboggan hill.
What are the implications of this? Is it a good? Is it bad? How will humans keep up? Listen to this episode to discover two possible worlds. One is a world of cooperation with AI that will bring the human race a step closer to utopia. The other is a world where we are no longer in control and we won’t even know it.

The singularity is a myth. It’s like religion for transhumanists.
No singularity is coming. AI super intelligence will still need to do experiments to prove its theorems. That will take time and energy…. lots of both.
We might be HOPING for that by the time we get to 2045😅
That’s the crux with singularities. You can never know what comes after.

Certain parts of technological advancement seem exponential but so far all have reached an upper bound.
Moore’s law stop being true a decade ago. We’ve yet to see any indication LLMs can self optimize. We still have yet to create AGI and don’t have any evidence to show neural network leaning can do so.
Not saying these things can’t happen, but it’s far from written in stone.
The issue with the premise of this is it presumes we have created true AI. We have some really nice algorithms, but I don’t think we’ve actually created true AI yet
Humans could have utopia now if it weren’t for humans.
Given how America has fucked the American dream IF or when we reach singularity it ain’t gonna be utopia.
To be honest… A dystopia currently seems in the works. Private companies create the technology that becomes revolutionary. And they ultimately leave government behind until government gets on their knees to buy their technology. Consumerism becomes the way of society. People being “plugged in” to the metaverse for weeks on end, becoming spectacular there whilst becoming a drooling mess here. Not saying I agree with China but they’ve taken measures which halt growth of certain companies but at the sake of not allowing them to grow so superior they gain leverage over government. I think it was a pipe dream to believe companies could really have our needs at heart, and it was a pipe dream to believe governments would ever be ready or competent enough for when this tech starts revolutionising society.
