My comment is simply a documentation of events/facts. Nothing should be construed beyond that.

Unpopular opinion: Armenia should request a special status in the Arab league (something like permanent observer, or associate member; mimicking Switzerland’s status with the EU), given its huge diaspora and geopolitical interests in the Arab world.
Armenia’s diplomacy must be much more proactive in reaching out to new partners in the Middle East. If Russia decides to play dirty, Arab countries may be the best way to continue exporting our products.

Little has been said about the wording of the MFA’s statement. To me it reads quite balanced, for example it mentions hostage-taking of civilians which may only refer to Hamas‘ attack in October without naming Hamas, but also condemns targeting of civilians and infrastructure which may refer only to Israel’s actions. I’d say perfect bothsideism.
I’m Iraqi-American who sympathizes with Armenian and Palestinian suffering lately. My late dad always told me the Armenians are the most wonderful people ever. I wish he could see this now, he would have been so happy.

Notes:
– Not mentioned is Bahrain’s welcome ([source](https://www.bna.bh/en/BahrainwelcomesArmeniasofficialrecognitionofPalestine.aspx?cms=q8FmFJgiscL2fwIzON1%2BDohzGL%2B%2Ftg2JRH%2Fg4mHPdtk%3D)).
– The Arab Parliament is the legislative body of the Arab League.
– Not mentioned is the Arab League itself also expressed a welcome ([source](https://armenpress.am/en/article/1194299)).
– The „Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States“ is more commonly known as the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
– Non-Arab welcome came from the Republic of Türkiye.
– Islamic welcomes came from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) ([source](https://una-oic.org/en/general-secretaries/2024/06/21/Islamic-Cooperation-welcomes-Armenian-recognition/)), the Muslim World League (MWL) ([source](https://www.themwl.org/en/node/40308)), and the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) ([source](https://www.cair.com/press_releases/cair-welcomes-recognition-of-palestine-by-armenia-slovenia/)).
– No acknowledgement from Iran thus far.

Compare [Armenia’s statement](https://www.mfa.am/en/interviews-articles-and-comments/2024/06/21/mfa_statement/12706) to [Ireland’s statement](https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/f89fe-tanaiste-statement-on-irelands-formal-recognition-of-the-state-of-palestine/
) that focuses on Palestine and its state building, how it immediately upgrades the diplomatic relations, etc.
[The Times of Israel report on Armenia’s recognition](https://www.timesofisrael.com/armenia-recognizes-palestinian-statehood-israel-summons-ambassador-for-reproach/) with a pretty good overview of the context.
