Die Tatsache, dass die Person meinen Namen und meine Adresse kennt, lässt mich glauben, dass es sich um einen Vorfall am Arbeitsplatz handelt, aber mir fällt wirklich nichts ein. Wird dies auf jeden Fall in mein Strafregister eingetragen? Ich habe kein Geld für einen Anwalt und spreche kaum Französisch. Ich habe wirklich Angst. Natürlich werde ich dort erscheinen, aber was soll ich erwarten? Werden sie von mir Geld verlangen?

Not a lawyer here. Hard to say as they do not disclose the details of the accusation, but I’d lawyer up for sure. I know it’s expensive, but going there without one is a dangerous move.
They won’t ask you for money, they will interrogate you about a specific case you are accused of: discrimination/hate speech. And whatever you say *will* be used against you.
One of the FIRST things anyone should do when arriving to Switzerland (to live and work here, of course) is to get a legal insurance (protection juridique). Costs a few hundred a year and covers your ass in situations like these.

You won’t know until you go. If you’re sure you did nothing bad, porbably someone gave your name when it had contact with a police man. Perhaps your identity stolen at some point (and some people use a copy of your card ? ) ?
Nobody can tell you only from this letter other then the police. Just go there with your ID and this letter and they will explain your case.
„Veuillez prendre rapidement contact avec le policier si vous avez besoin d’un interprète“ means you have to contact the police for a translation service if you are not fluent on french.
They will explain everything in a language you understand. English, probably? A lawyer is not mandatory, you can defend yourself. But I’m sure you already found someone able to translate that from French to your language.
There won’t be a criminal record until there’s a sentence by a court, so maybe you’re fine especially if you’re not guilty of anything

Discrimination and hate speech (Not just it’s the correct english) exoression. It’s the article 261bis in the Swiss penal code. They accuse you of publicly saying we should discriminante or hate a specific group of people because of their race, sexual orientation, gender, etc. It could be an internet post you made?

No. Only if you are convicted in court. At the moment, you are just accused of a crime and invited for questioning, but not even charged (yet).

If you didn’t do anything, there is no need to be scared. But if I were you, I would find the money somehow, maybe borrow it. Lawyers are expensive, but not that expensive. And it’s money well spent.
Contact the phone number and ask for an interpreter to be present. If you can’t afford a lawyer ask for one too.
I’m not a lawyer, but if you genuinely don’t know what this is about then I would highly suggest you practice repeating, “I understand what you just said to me. For the moment, I have nothing to say in return.” Don’t react. Take notes. Give no impression you remember anything about the incident in question or acknowledge any of your actions. I wouldn’t even acknowledge that I was present at the time and place in question, even if I knew I was. Let your lawyer sort out the rest.
