Dies ist offensichtlich ein Wegwerf-Account, da ich diesen Beitrag von meinem Haupt-Account fernhalten möchte. Ich bin derzeit in Gesprächen mit einem Unternehmen in Finnland. Als wir über die Gehaltsvorstellungen für den Job/die Rolle (IT-bezogen – nicht Softwareentwickler usw.) sprachen, wurde mir gesagt, dass das Budget für die Rolle 4,5-5.000 EUR beträgt. Der Job würde auch erfordern, dass ich nach Finnland umziehe (nach Helsinki oder in die Nähe, wie Vantaa oder Espoo).
Ich bin bereits als Einwanderer in der EU und arbeite in meinem Bereich als Senior in einem baltischen Staat. Ich verdiene derzeit ein Gehalt, das dem für den Job angebotenen/budgetierten Gehalt ähnelt. Das Problem ist, nach Steuern (laut https://www.summarum.fi/verolaskuri/ – eine Website, die mir ein finnischer Freund empfohlen hat), wenn ich 5.000 EUR brutto bekommen würde, würde ich mit 33,7 % besteuert werden, was 3.315 EUR netto ergibt. Das ist also das Gleiche, was ich derzeit bereits in meinem Wohnsitzland verdiene. Angesichts der Tatsache, dass die Lebenshaltungskosten in Finnland (insbesondere in Helsinki, Espoo oder Vantaa) höher sind als dort, wo ich lebe, frage ich mich, ob es sich überhaupt lohnt, das Stellenangebot in Betracht zu ziehen.
Meine Frage ist: 1. Sind 4,500 bis 5000 Dollar für eine mittlere/höhere IT-Position in Finnland typisch? Wenn nicht, wie viel liegt dann ungefähr? Ich befürchte, dass mir generell ein beschissenes Angebot gemacht wird, vor allem, weil ich praktisch aus einem Dritte-Welt-Land komme.
- Lohnt es sich überhaupt, dieses Angebot in Betracht zu ziehen, wenn es mir angeboten wird? Um das ins Verhältnis zu setzen: Mit einem ähnlichen Nettogehalt wie diesen 3315 EUR, wo ich derzeit lebe, spare ich 1000-1500 EUR pro Monat auf der Seite (je nach den Ausgaben, die ich habe), bis zu dem Punkt, an dem ich über größere Lebensentscheidungen nachdenke, wie eine Wohnung/ein Haus usw. Meine Befürchtung ist, dass, da das Leben in Finnland teurer ist als dort, wo ich derzeit lebe, selbst wenn 3315 EUR mehr als ausreichend zum Leben wären, kaum oder gar keine Ersparnisse möglich wären.
Ich würde gerne Ihre Meinung und Hilfe zu dieser Angelegenheit hören.

Of course you are able to save with that kind of salary. 1000-1500€ per month is possible if you don’t have kids or a car and can find an apartment that’s not too expensive.
I don’t live in Helsinki area, but my living expenses are about 900€/month and my net salary is about 2900€/month. I have two kids and a car and I save 300-500€/month.
Is it worth it though? Impossible to say.
Yes in my experience this is a typical range. And a good pay in Finland – much more than the median. Your lifestyle naturally affects your saving possibilities a lot, you can live relatively cheaply in Finland or you can splurge.
You got it right. If you have the similar pay in the Baltics and you don’t have any other reason to relocate to Finland you should probably stay there.
Why you want to relocate to Finland with a similar net income and higher living expense? What is the catch?
You need to tell more about the job role as that will affect a lot on the salary.
For what its worth, having a Finnish mid/senior-level position in your resumé will look very nice to most of your future employers as well if you decide to relocate afterwards.
Considering your situation, if your new employer in Finland is a big known company in the field, then it is worth considering. This way you can work for a year, leverage your current position and apply to another position in Finland with higher pay.
Apart from salary and saving money, do you have any other motivations to move to Finland?
Perhaps the possibility to apply for citizenship in the future?
Overall the EU is not a place if you would like to make serious money and save. Tax rate and living expenses are both high especially in Nordic countries.
Without knowing the details i would say senior IT people earn 4500-7000 eur / month brutto. Depending on a lot of things.
So its at the lower end but not ridiculous.
