Hello. I was trying to change my tax class since my spouse is already here. However, I couldn’t submit the form as there are „mistakes“. It says that information on page 5 shall only be made if I have requested for tax class IV / Factor. But that’s not what I selected. I was opting for III / V. The problem is when I remove the information at page 5, it doesn’t let me proceed. It says that I have to fill out the information. Now this doesn’t make sense. The system wants me to remove the information at page 5 but it doesn’t let me.
Does anybody encountered this? How did you fix it? I hope someone could help.

Did you try a different browser for starters?
In the worst case, maybe you can hand in the paper form at the tax office?
Also the tax class only affects the monthly withholdings, if you and your partner file a tax return together it will not change the overall tax sum.
