Likely „lyng“/heather.
These photos are taken about 3km before you pass my family’s cabin.
Can’t help you with the specific names of the plants though…
either heather, or grasses, or blueberry bushes i’d guess, i’ve seen all of them orange-ish red before in autumn
What you are seeing, is a mix of heather and other plants, that makes out most of the ground in Norwegian mountains.
The most normal heather is called „røsslyng“ or „red-heather“. In between them, there will be plants like blueberry bushes, sundew, and small birches, as well as various types of moss.
The flora in the norwegian mountains is put together of something like 250 different species of bushes, small trees and heather – any number of which go red in the autumn.
My guess is that the plant that is giving the reddish-brown colour is a combination of dvergbjørk (dwarf birch) Betula nana and Rypebær (Alpine bearberry) Arctous alpina.
