Ich frage, weil ich zu meiner Karriereberaterin bei Arffman gegangen bin und sie mir gegenüber erwähnt hat, dass ich ihrer Meinung nach nicht wie eine Amerikanerin aussehe. Dann habe ich ihr meinen Hintergrund erklärt und sie hat mich nach meiner Rasse gefragt und gesagt, ich bin schwarz und Mexikanerin. Sie hat geantwortet, ich dachte, Sie wären aus Honolulu oder von den Philippinen. Ich bin jetzt nicht beleidigt, aber ich bin wirklich interessiert.

First you should understand that most of finns arent that nuanced in the mixed / black identity that americans usually have. Most of us are ignorant enough to think black means mostly africans, and we have no idea what „black identity“ can mean to alot of mixed people, especially light skin ones.
My guess wouldve been that u definitely look like a mix of black and some filipine / other island in that region.
In short, its just an innocent ignorancy, we just arent that educated in these topics.
