Weren’t they going to do this in 2023? What went wrong?

“South Ossetia” is not “considering” nothing. As if anybody in Russia is asking them anything.
It’s nothing, he was asked a question and gave a vague non-answer, ever since the previous „referendum“ attempt was canned it’s clear that Russia has no interest in annexing the region, at least not for foreseeable future.
They asked numerous times and Kremlin rejected them every time. If Russia truly wanted Tskhinvali annexed they would’ve done so by now but its not in their geopolitical interest, masquerading the „south ossetia“ entity as independent state is more preferable for them.
Ah its that time of the year again
Aren’t they basically unofficially part of it anyways ? A little more than a puppet state.What would this change other than Russia’s border map on Kremlin’s walls or something
