From a timing perspective this has been a nightmare for Republicans. Just as the iran war topic calms down a bit, trump has caused another firestorm and continues to make it worse as he bullies Ukraine. Its not as bad for him as iran but its keeping the negative headlines everywhere and is causing outrage from Republicans too. This could make the next congress see this as a big issue aswell because trumps instincts are soo poor on this
