Wild how they are willing to destroy the earth in the process of this insatiable lust for power

Absolutely not the play. You all forget that digital media forced us into subscription services which guaranteed long term revenue on a completely centralised system they control. This is just further extending that to computer usage. Reverse engineering and red teaming etc. is actually something GOOD tech companies chase and Google pays people for the results as it pushes innovation. They also release a lot open source to support that community, the man has it wrong, its about money not limiting the whole space of open source reverse engineering.

RAM and GPU prices are so ridiculous because the data centres are taking them all.

I think theres something to this idea… but they havent factored in China/India/EU, and that the rest of the world really can operate without the US and their tech.
I think the American ego is so large, they really think everyone has to kowtow to them and nothing will ever change.
They are gonna find out theyre mistaken. But its gonna be painful for all involved

That’s kinda what seems to happening in gaming. Gaming hardware gets ridiculously expensive. There are rumors that Nvidia might just stop selling their top graphics cards to normal customers. The idea of actually owning games is fading off. Everything is turning into an „online service“. Google tested the „Google Stadia“ few years ago, where you could play games on their cloud without owning a computer. Now it’s mostly big gaming corporations doing it, while smaller ones still treat customers with respect. But EU just got lobbied by big corpos to hit indie studios with the new „children safety“ act.
So in the future, instead of computer or full of hardware console, you might just have a controller and TV with access to cloud with games. Probably paying per hour of playing. It still sounds ridiculous and unreal now, but that’s kinda the direction where this is all heading. I play video games for over 30 years. And some things in gaming that were unthinkable in gaming 20-30 years ago, are completely normal and acceptable now. All it takes is to train the newer generation of gamers that this is the new normal. Which isn’t that hard, considering we play games since we were kids.
And it’s not just about gaming, but also utility software or internet in general.

This is not even a conspiracy to be honest.
