Thats dark.
The motivation of the article is not ‚bad‘ per se, they are concerned about the impact of poor friendships on bullying or suicide, unfortunately, the author is not particulalrly astute or at all familiar with basic psychological studies of these problems or some rather self-evident principles of human bonding. As a result, its actual message is more likely to contribute to, rather than alleviate, the problems it discusses.
> Not meeting means that „the relationship is not important in their current lives.“
This is patently false. People, especially in Japan, often want to meet people they once knew better but have too little time due to work/family commitments, or they are too shy to reach out, or worried about their current status, or many other factors.
More significantly, even weak friendships with people that are not a perfect match for you and who will not be long-term friends can be incredibly valuable in regard to developing socialization skills and preventing the loneliness and isolation that can be a primary cause of depression, bullying, and possible suicide.
That’s how a society looses empathy for eachother, its a slippery slope.
Japan’s current future in nutshell
World is smaller than what you think compared to universe, also for most human their lives will be contained in city or village, extended to another city at another continent at max, i dunno about friendship, but you will meet same people all the time when you not expecting it.
Someone needs to check on who’s writing/implement these.
Why not go all the way and teach them to avoid all human relations? They all die on you eventually anyway.
