If you ever wonder what a nation’s founding father(s) look and sound like, look at Zelenskyy. That’s why Trump hates him. Trump hates anyone who effortlessly embodies everything Trump has spent a lifetime lying about because he has always been a sniveling coward.
Part of me is glad he’s still in power, but I hate the looming and building criticism that elections be held, or he step down, or something to prove he is not a strong man dictator using the war, as people understand it, as a pretext to retain power.
It’s already a talking point within Ukraine and is being amplified in Russia and their hired proxies in europe and the US. It’s something that is hard to counter without going into the logistics of holding elections in a war.
People don’t understand the situation, and I’m just worried that it is a slowly building conspiracy that will be increasingly used to criticize him personally as illegitimate and corrupt which they will believe.
I kind of hope he announces something to alleviate that concern. Announce his intention to leave power after a peace deal, or 2 years following one, or something.
Just from a geopolitical perspective it seems like a weakness that people will continue to exploit.
Luckily he’s a charismatic guy who knows how to crack a joke.
Jokes aside, he must be so fucking tired of all this.
He sure as shit didn’t ask for any of this, yet he’s still fighting and doesn’t lose his composure.

The people that are asking for Zelenskyy to step down are the same type of people that would be asking for Churchill to step down, let that marinate for a bit.
