All these photos look so much more human, the black and white photos always feel way more distant from reality for me.
In principle, I never like colorized black-and-white photos or „digitally enhanced“ or AI-slopified old images, but I’ll let it slide this time! One has to respect good job.
Many of these guys look exactly like the ones I shared the trenches with in the military. Similar expressions we all made and the modern winter clothing looks quite similar when a bit dirty. Makes these pictures feel more personal & impactful, damn. The war was the reality for these lads.

One of the pictures depict a Sampo, a domestically designed machine gun. Field tests showed the gun was lacking in some aspects, and it flopped.
What kind of knife or sword is that in the 14th image? These are so fascinating!!
