He might want a word with his Foreign Interference Commissioner, who says it’s perfectly fine as long as they launder the money through a think tank or foundation.

But there’s nothing canadian about the Alberta vote at all.
It’s all just a us/russia op. It was never birthed in Alberta in the first place…
Quebec independence has been a topic since the 60s and constantly reminded/brought up year after year.
Alberta’s came out of nowhere last year.
I think the risk is, separatist will claim fraud and the referendum being stolen or rigged, even if it is completely false.
It sets up the narrative for the US to come and take alberta. A similar narrative was used to oust muduro. it doesn’t matter if it is true or not they just need to set up the story to act.
I suppose the US being stuck in Iran is our saving grace right now.
In a sensationalist totally matrix is break down sort of way (so what I am writing is for entertainment purposes, don’t take it to seriously but feel free to comment) worst case scenario:
– After midterms Trump just decides to nuke Iran to get it over with
– Trump then drops a nuke in the middle of the atlantic and warns EU, China and russia to stay of their land mass
– They go ahead and take Greenland
– Canada with no military left in anxiety. the US acting it’s Will strengthens 51st state sentiment in AB and SK. AB and SK are the first to quit and go, rest of the provinces are in limbo, fear until they fall in line with the US.
I don’t think NATO will do anything other then right Trump a scathing letter about his actions. Trump is willing to play chicken with Nukes, and basically say is ending the world worth it dare.
If I were to write a book or movie that is how it would play out.
Now back to being serious. The US problem is they refuse to see how technology is an equalizer in the globe and don’t want to lose any of the perks their population holds as being the world hegemon. But technology and AI basically creates an environment where the world can be more collaborative vs competitve and hence the world is likely to fall into China’s vision. So the US, RW media creates fear porn over Chinas power and they do stupid things like start wars to hinder China rather then accept technology is forcing us to have a collobrative world.
