The timing couldn’t be worse.
I do think her housing provider jacking up her rent 300% and evicting her exacerbated her death. How is that legal. Poor lady. But these mega corporations see ordinary people as a means to a profit, vultures. Treating elderly people who live alone in this manner.
Absolutely no way to spend the last weeks of your life. Under immense stress and lost. Poor, poor woman.

Well Spain is about to descend into civil war…
Well that settles it, I’m walking to the border in order to honour the age-old Southern Portuguese tradition of making a buck and smuggling trinkets into Spain via zipline while they burn down the country every 90 years.
Amigos, DM me if you want instant coffee, toilet paper, or cigarettes.
Landlords are parasites
This is going to get even more people on the streets. I wouldn’t be surprised that a future law designed to fix housing issues will be named after her.
God, I am afraid to check some of our subs here… the things people were talking about her before were already sickening enough.
The circus just keeps going , you never get bored in this country
another masterclass by Pedro Sanchez , the ultimate politician
Such a tragedy. A couple weeks ago another woman called Olga comitted suicide because she was kicked out of her house. These oligarchs have blood in their hands and this neoliberal system rewards them for it.
Sad end to life, nobody deserves this.
She’s being psoed
Why should people who can’t afford rent be guarantted a living in highly popular areas like the country capital center? Just because they started renting here first? There are certainly plenty of others eager to take their place.
RIP, but this woman put herself in that situation because of her own irresponsibility. She was given many chances to buy her house and she always refused. She lived with an expired contract for years, ignoring her situation. She also was a troublesome and problematic neighbor. She shouldn’t be an example of anything.
Now politicians that did nothing before she was evicted will use her as a political tool.
as a xennial spanish guy who got interested and a bit informed on the case, I can confirm you that we live in a simulation, we live in a simulation i repeat. good luck and godspeed to you all. This is the most surrealistic piece of reality that I’ve ever lived.
This is corporate manslaughter.
Companies shouldn’t be allowed to buy apartments, Company doesn’t need it for living. It’s intended for people.
Brace yourselves for their deaths to be ruthlessly used as a political weapon from now until the elections
Messi is not even half the playmaker Pedro Sánchez is.
I mean the only solution to this is housing becoming completely govt built and being treated as a human right.
Expecting private owners to not raise rents for decades is just going to lead to empty homes.
The system has applied it’s violence towards the weak, like it always does.
Bad timing for them though. It is gonna get spicy in Spain.
Have we reached an Harambe timeline split event?
I have seen some information that she had been a bit irresponsible with her housing affairs.
However, Spain has serious housing affordability issues and if her story can help improve things then so be it. In this case, the end justifies the means.
Will be interesting to see where things end. Spain’s economy is heavily reliant on selling dream homes to foreign buyers so they need to keep that market alive.
