There’s no proof of this FYI. this came from the daily mail, which claimed Russian media let this out but there is 0 proof of any telegram channel, no site, nothing. They got this from a YouTube comment.

First War, now Plague . . .please be Water to blood next, or Frogs . .. ..shit’s getting Biblical

The real plague is the internet where you’re hearing everyday that we’re all gonna die because of AI, war or some new pandemic.

    4. I’m surprised they’re not avoiding calling it a plague and rebranding it as a ‘Special Pneumonic Operation’.

    5. BareNakedSole on

I’m surprised they aren’t sending infected people to surrender to the Ukrainian forces

    6. If that is what they are reporting I am going to make the assumption that it is much worse.

Plague already has treatment and prevention. This is not a new pandemic waiting to happen

    8. If neighboring areas are already issuing do-not-travel warnings and Russia state agencies are already pushing people to delete articles about it, this is probably worse than just one or two people dying.

The story makes no sense. She got infected when she dropped the tube? She was not wearing PPE and the tube was not in containment?

I know *every* country has their negative qualities and dark parts of their history but it’s kind of wild how Russia has *consistently* made bad decisions throughout its existence that not only destroys their country but makes their problems *everyone* else’s problem.

I’m not ashamed to say it, really. Russia under Putin at this point is probably the Nazi Germany of the 21st century. Much of the issues we face today have some trace back to Russia. They weren’t *created* by Russia but they have *absolutely* been accelerated by it. Russia’s pretty much responsible for pushing disinformation through social media which helped get Trump elected that sent the United States into a downward spiral since 2016. Russia has *also* been funding far-right parties in democratic countries that are sympathetic to them and that if elected will try to cut off aid to Ukraine and most likely run their own countries into the ground while making their societies more intolerant.

And to all those morons who believe Russian propaganda that Ukraine is in the way of peace: you *truly* are the dumbest idiots alive. Russia does *not* want peace. They want Ukraine, plundered, subjugated, humiliated and destroyed as revenge for *humiliating* them. And if Russia were to win, do you *honestly* believe that Russia would stop and things would go back to normal? No. Europe would be dealing with a *massive* refugee crisis of Ukrainians who are fleeing the wholescale massacre, rape and destruction of their home. Russia would also *not* stop there. They’d be a shark smelling blood in the water and start testing the Baltics as well. You would *not* be avoiding a war with Russia, you would simply *delay* the war and face a *far* more experienced and confident adversary. The equivalent of Russia defeating Ukraine would be the same sort of catastrophe as when Hitler was gifted the Rhineland or when Britain and France forced Czechoslovakia to give Germany the Sudetenland region. That didn’t stop WWII, did it?

Now we have proof of a plague outbreak in Russia. I *highly suspect* they were experimenting with biological weapons to use on Ukraine. Regardless, if they were or not their incompetence is *once again* becoming *everyone* else’s problem.

I hope I’m wrong but a wide spread European conflict with Russia seems unavoidable at this point. Their *obsession* with becoming a great power again and „avenging“ the humiliation of the fall of the Soviet Union is pretty ingrained in the upper brass even though the Soviet system was not sustainable when it collapsed. Their desire to be respected and avenging *any* humiliation is going to drag them into another war that is going to cause widespread destruction and most likely destroy their own country as well.

Unbelievable, how a bunch of bitter old men can pretty much run a country’s future into the ground so quickly. So disheartening.

I can’t shake the feeling that this has been timed to perfection and it’s going to reach the US just in time to keep people away from the polls for “their own health and safety”.

And again I say, anybody closing down international flights? No? That’s cool.

    12. If they’re admitting two, then that’s one Hell of a confession. Because it’s proof that this thing is contagious, and was not confined to one person.

I’d be willing to bet the true numbers of infections and deaths are much higher than they’re letting on.

Can we just not repeat the same shit as covid and ban all travel from Russia?

    14. You just wait until US helps with RFK at the helm…raw milk will cure it quick

    15. Is it bad that I hope this will cripple the Russian economy and stop the stupid war?

December 2019 while watching a few elderly people in china passing out in the streets from some new virus: „Hmmm that sucks“

October 2026 while watching a ‚few‘ Russians die from a plague:
      „Hmmm that sucks“

Not even in disaster movies are this many things going wrong at once. All we need is an asteroid headed towards earth and I think we have an apocalyptic full house.

    18. Just a few hours ago they were saying that no one else had died, and that those in quarantine had no symptoms, and now suddenly another person?

    19. DoggedStooge on

It was said when the news broke, but to reiterate: if Russia is admitting there’s a problem, then it’s already enough of a danger to the world that they wouldn’t be able to hide it even if they didn’t admit it.

      > Rospotrebnadzor has denied that a plague outbreak is occurring in the region.

fuck off that isnt a real name

    21. Watch them try and spread it intentionally to Ukraine.

Wonder if they’ll start the US Biolabs conspiracy theory again

Russia doesn’t have even half the containment capacity of China, and they can really struggle with this kind of situation. If the incubation period is that long, there’s a possibility that the strain could spread beyond Russia’s borders. It’s definitely something worth keeping an eye on, more than Ebola, probably.

First i gotta worry about ai stealing all the jobs and now the fucking plague? god damn.

    24. Second death, for a condition generally treatable with antibiotics—> maybe antibiotic resistant bioengineered strain. Could be a wrap on society.
