
Der vergessene Krieg: Die Schweizer Öffentlichkeit scheint den Krieg vergessen zu haben, der 1991 in Jugoslawien ausbrach. Dennoch hat (und tut) er Auswirkungen auf die in der Schweiz lebenden Menschen, die aus dem Kriegsgebiet kamen. Sie wurden während und nach dem Krieg stigmatisiert, während der Zuzug von Menschen aus Ex-Jugoslawien Spuren in der Schweizer Kultur und im Alltag hinterlassen hat, unter anderem in der Schweizer Rap-Szene.

I don’t know if it’s been „forgotten“, if I remember correctly, I learned about it in school. But this applies to all immigrant groups: locals, especially the more conservative ones, usually don’t care about conflicts in other countries that they have no part in. If those conflicts cause issues here, it’s not very appreciated, to say the least. Hosting immigrants has cost Switzerland a lot of money, and personally, I think it was important and had a very positive outcome for these groups. Why don’t we focus on that for once?
