    1. “Asked if the hospital will be open by 2029, he said he would not give a timeline until he gets a definite programme from the contractor”

Being built for so long the sheer amount of builders shites has already wrecked the place

This must have been a jobs programme or something. Does anyone know if any politicians or their families had any ties to BAM or any of the subcontractors/suppliers.

    4. There could realistically be children, who were sick when this project started, working on the building site by the time it’s done.

      Space…the final frontier.

These are the voyages of the National Children’s Hospital.

Its five year mission…to boldly consume €2.2 billion of taxpayers’ money, to seek out new delays and new construction defects, to explore strange new interpretations of the word ‘completion’!

To discover 240 bathrooms requiring repairs…

To go where no hospital project has gone before.

    6. People involved in (1) designing such an unnecessarily complicated hospital building and (2) signing a contract that exposes the taxpayer to every single change order need to be not just fired but jailed.

Any chance of Simon Harris putting on his hard hat and picking up a trowel?

    8. Next election cycle we’ll be hearing about bringing this to completion xD

    9. Born to late to complain about the Children’s Hospital build time

Born to early to complain about the children’s build time

Born just in time to complain about the children’s hospital build time

I genuinely think we’ll have a United Ireland before this damn hospital gets finished

By the time the childrens hospital opens it’ll be out dated and converted into a nursing home 🤦🏻

    12. This one is purely BAM taking the piss!

Insulation and fire safety certification is basic building requirements, not hospital or project specific requirements

The government should be going after them for damages on this one unless they fix it at no cost and without delaying th latest agreed date

    13. Its such a fecking failure that if you look for failed mega projects globally, its usually mentioned BUT the biggest difference between it and most others failed projects, is that this is a much needed children’s hospital, its been needed for 20years or more and this is the best we can do? It’s not like its a nice fancy hotel being built for rich tourists, this is a fucking hospital like?

As someone who grew up in the building trade – anyone who put hands near this shitshow should be ashamed of working for such a useless shower of money hungry gobshites!

    14. A huge fuck up by the government from day one.

You wouldn’t start a bungalow without full set of drawings yet these clowns let a hospital start.

Heads down lads, two more weeks we flatten the curve and get this hospital built

    16. This project will a generation of builders. By the time it’s done they can retire. Their children then can go and fix all the issues were left.

No accountability just throw more tax payers money at the problem and increase taxes to cover the cost. The real definition of cowboys.

    18. Much_Perception4952 on

Jesus. The government BADLY needs new contract lawyers. At this stage we should be billing the builders not the other way round.

Next election same shit voter turnout and same FF/FG government. Gluttons for punishment.

    20. standarsh1965 on

Every hse project ever. I’m 100% sure they look for cowboys to put them together and they put them together wrong knowing they can just double charge for then fixing the fuck up they made
