Es sei inakzeptabel, argumentierte der Konzern, dass der Bund 2,5 Milliarden Euro an Steuergeldern für eine andere freigebe "Kraftstoffrabatt" und es nicht geschafft, den Preis des *Deutschlandtickets* zumindest stabil zu halten. "Die ständigen Diskussionen rund um das Ticket und seinen Preis sind anstrengend und sorgen für Unsicherheit. Menschen brauchen langfristige Vorhersehbarkeit, um ihre Mobilitätsgewohnheiten dauerhaft zu ändern," warnte Jens Hilgenberg, Leiter Verkehrspolitik beim BUND.

You’d think there would be an interest in helping people move to alternatives that don’t support fossil fuels and are more affordable so people have more disposable income. But no. Instead we have the heat being turned up. Unbelievable. Bravo Germany, spectacular own goal
still cheaper then a normal month ticket here for me.

What a weird article…. the text talks about the Deutschland Ticket price increase, while the video talks about increased petrol costs.
I would have expected a halfway decent journalist might make some comparison of these things.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but that is still insanely, ridiculously cheap. In 2003 I paid €170 a month for a public transit pass just for the city of Hamburg, at a time when I was making around €5 an hour working in a cinema.
Public transport should cost money with subsidies for poor people. Subsidizing it to this extent makes it dependent on political whims and leads to underinvestment.
This is a dream compared to prices for Amtrak, I miss DB
