On a global scale I feel mighty rich despite the setbacks, I feel very fortunate and thankful I am doing well. I credit that to the safety nets this country provides, like single payer healthcare. I save money, and my cashflow in crisis is much easier.
But I will not be creating real lasting intergenerational wealth to pass along; all that will be eaten by late-stage retirement, and/or medical treatment. Assuming I live that long, and my limited investments and savings don’t dry up before that.
Hope I can leave something for my kids, a livable planet would be nice at minimum.
I doubt their calculations. Lets say home prices fall 50%, then it means a drop for the 40% of wealth that is home prices.
Would this really affect the median, sure the mean will drop by about 20%, but i am not sure it will lower the median that much.
We would still have a median better than US, with a lot better quality of life.
I cannot think how some Canadians look at US and want to be part of that.
