Unabhängigkeitsbewegungen bleiben in ganz Europa eine starke Kraft – doch heute hat die Debatte im Vereinigten Königreich eine bemerkenswerte Wendung genommen.
Zum ersten Mal haben Schottland, Wales und Nordirland Erstminister von Parteien, die die verfassungsmäßige Beziehung ihres Landes zum Vereinigten Königreich ändern wollen. Heute trafen sich die Führer der SNP, Plaid Cymru und Sinn Féin in Cardiff und unterzeichneten eine gemeinsame Erklärung, in der sie das Recht ihrer Nationen auf Selbstbestimmung bekräftigten und Westminster aufforderten, künftige Verfassungsänderungen „vorzubereiten, zu planen und zu erleichtern“.
Das Treffen findet nur wenige Tage statt, nachdem der britische Premierminister Andy Burnham anscheinend die Tür für ein weiteres schottisches Unabhängigkeitsreferendum geöffnet hat, sofern sich ein klarer öffentlicher Konsens ergibt, obwohl Downing Street anschließend betonte, dass ein weiteres Referendum vorerst tabu sei.

Odd that South Tyrol is included but Veneto isn’t. Die Freiheitlichen usually argue for reunification with Austria rather than independence from Italy.

The actual Northern Ireland independence movement is very niche. It’s more usual to wish to join with the rest of Ireland.
There’s no real independent movement in brittany at all. There’s a few larpers but very marginal. Like we’re talking single digit thing, nothing like catalonia. Probably more in corsica but again nothing like catalonia

There is no independence movement in Bavaria.
Why do you not include the de facto Breton capitol in its independence movement? While the French region of Brittany was designed to exclude Nantes, Nantes is very much included in the push for independence.

There is no independence movement in Bavaria. Maybe in Saxony but even those are just are completely moronic right wing terrorists with around 20 members.
The independence movement in Northern Ireland is supported by less than 1% of the population. The main political groups are Nationalists who want unification with (the Republic of) Ireland and Unionists who want a continued union with the rest of the UK. The flag you displayed here is the former flag of the Unionist-controlled Northern Ireland. Northern Irish independence supporters use a St Patrick’s saltire on a royal blue field with the Red Hand of Ulster emblazoned on a yellow six-pointed star. Nationalists use the flag of Ireland.

Is there an independence movement in Northern Ireland? I haven’t heard much about it if so. The major question is reunification of Ireland versus Northern Ireland remaining in the UK. Also the flag used on this map is the Ulster Banner which is effectively a unionist flag and pretty much antithetical to independence.
The devolved governments of Wales and Scotland have signed a bit of paper that does basically nothing, except confirm that if they want, they already have the right to voluntarily fuck over their citizens for absolutely no gain.
Welsh independence is absolutely nowhere, regardless of what their first minster wants/says

Cornwall probably has more of an independence movement.
Bavaria/Bayern has no real Independence movement. People that support it almost always somebodys weird uncle.

I wouldn’t entirely say it’s accurate to describe the Northern Ireland situation as an independence movement.
No serious person or party in Ireland, Northern Ireland or the UK is actually suggesting that NI becomes independent. The issue really comes down to if NI should ever reunite with Ireland to form one country. That’s not the same thing at all as going it alone, like most of the others on this map want.
Also, I find it amusing that the flag used for NI is the Ulster Banner, which isn’t associated with independence or reunification at all, but actually with the loyalist community who would prefer to remain a part of the UK.
Aren’t the movements in Srpska and Northern Ireland, actually just separatist movements as they want to separate from their current states so they can to be part of respective ethnic nation states.
