That’s just a standard network plan for public transport.

I don’t know what you would gain by not using this kind of representation for a map without streets etc. It is a well established form of showing line connectors and stations in a dense urban network. Letting them follow strictly geografical lines would be distracting from the message.

If someone wants to try to make a GPT-conversion, I would be quite interested if the information were more accessible. Probably would look the same as LLMs did learn these maps.
