I have no love for Steven Harper, but I have much love for uniting in the face of common threats. More of this please.

The financial *power* that will be present in that room will be incredible. Which is why allowing reporters to be present is similarly quite incredible.
The tone of the attendees will be a litmus for how well Carney’s investment strategy is being received by investors. Hopefully everyone exits the event feeling positive, optimistic, and in a mood to invest.
They must really be pushing for pipelines to get investment, the guy got four major pipeline construction projects approved and completed entirely with private funding during his time as PM. He did it all even with a minority government and the opposition trying to stop him continuously.
I’m not terribly interested in the content of Harper’s speech – I expect it’ll be just generic „go Canada“ stuff.
But I’m very excited to see how the National Post and its associated dingleberries will try to criticize it without criticizing it. The editorial directives they are going to get from their corporate overlords will be things of beauty and masterpieces of spin.
Its interesting we been hearing a lot from Chretien and Harper during the trade war and seem to just ignore the former PM, Jagmeet or PP really
Like it or not, Chrétien and Harper run circles around those guys from a credibility and policy-expertise standpoint.
This is the time of adults, not yelling insults and false positivity.
Chrétien, Harper, and now Carney are basically the only world-class politicians we’ve had in the last 30 years. The rest barely qualify as Premiers.
It’s time for all Canadian pension plans to withdraw from American investment and either focus on Canadian investment opportunities or elsewhere in the world.
