Wait, Russia is asking ETHIOPIA for aircraft? They must be really desperate given how notoriously shoddy aircraft maintenance is in the region. I guess Ethiopia smartly decided that they still want to be able to get second-handed aircraft from wealthier airlines, rather than torpedo their international relations to prop up a dying pariah state.

Any country hoping to be paid for leasing planes to russia must be living in cloud cuckoo land. Surely they know that russia was leasing hundreds of planes before the war and has effectively stolen them all and run them into the ground. They have no intention of honoring the existing lease agreements never mind new ones.
