The conversation is overly focused on him not paying. The important issue here is that he’s offering to buy votes. That’s destruction of democracy. Too many are way too comfortable with that.
I work in a marketing-aligned field and this is how you prep the market for the subsequent message and action that bribes and purchasing of votes is ok.

Tell any MAGA person that Gavin Newsom offered California voters $5000 to vote for him and watch their heads absolutely explode. Then tell them it was actually Trump and watch them move the goal posts so hard it breaks the stadium wall.

Don’t overthink this. Trump knows that it’s not a serious proposal and will never happen. But such an insane proposal will get wall to wall coverage in the media. And he knows that a large section of the electorate is stupid and/or does not pay attention to politics (or anything). Those people will hear tangentially “if I vote Republican I will get $5000”. He won’t lose votes over it, but he absolutely will get some votes from ignorant uninformed citizens because of it. Mission accomplished. The end.

Can’t wait to see the look on his face when the flood of blue wins across the country drown him and depresses him because it’ll only be a matter of time before the rest of the epstein files are out and facing him out becomes a reality.

I hate that we’re focused on if he’d actually pay. The focus should be on how wrong this is to buy votes for his party. „Only if republicans win“ is very clearly a bribe attempt to get people tp vote for them. Theres no surpulus, there’s no recession needing stimulating, he tied it directly to the election. So how anyone can claim this is anything but a bribe is beyond me. And that if he did pay it out where is the 1.3 trillion coming from? They promised to lower the national debt, they hate socialism, and yet they’re fine with this shit.
