I setup wero and didn’t get this at all.
I just got the first activation code when asked. But not this fake spam looking email
Logging into LT gave the attacker full access to … quite a lot. I would call the emergency number of your real bank now.
If you have entered your luxtrust info , you need to block it ASAP
If I would want to scam peoples luxtrust, I would just make a site that goes to a „successful authentication“ screen all the time.
If you entered your LuxTrust information on a scammy site, you should contact your bank asap.
Was even on the news yesterday:
https://www.rtl.lu/news/national/des-falsch-sms-vun-der-bezuelapp-wero-gett-den-ament-ronderem-gescheckt-143449326
Called Worldline, LuxTrust and police.
Everything is blocked but in that short period of time those bastards cleaned my credit card.
I didn’t had much on my debit card, luckily.
I feel so angry at myself right now. Usually, I am the one who is always careful and warning others to be vigilant.
There is lesson to be learned here, as the guy on the Worldline told me: NEVER trust SMS that come in the evening or in the night.
Someone mentioned the news. I refuse to watch the news because I am only getting even more depressed and anxious and worried.
I got the same message and opened it in DuckDuckGo since I did not trust the” .info”website. But if when you open it, you can be fooled easily… the design is pretty good, icons and graphics are top notch.
Now I am a bit disappointed, I am sure that my number was leaked by the company Wero. I have this number only for important admin stuff or banking , I never use it for anything else and never got any phishing or scammy sms on it before … I have the number for 5 years now.
What a way to enter the market Wero!
OP: scammers and hackers can steal you if you do an action… you opened the link, you entered the details of your luxtrust account and probably got a notification from luxtrust that you validated… you basically did everything to make them steal you. Glad that they did not wreck you and you had the good instinct to block everything… next time open links in separate browser where you have no passwords saved, no cookies for active sessions etc , I recommend DuckDuckGo with the highest setting for security ( no JavaScript, no cookie etc.)
